First Aid with Essential Oils - external use only:

Athlete’s Foot, fungal infections - Tea Tree Oil – apply with Q-tip directly on affected area. You can also add 2 drops of Tea Tree Oil diluted with Witch Hazel.

Cuts, Scrapes - Lavender Essential Oil or Purification Blend. Lavender is very gentle and safe and is a skin regenerator. Purification is antibacterial and antiviral.

Bug Bites, Stings  - Apply Lavender or Purification
 blend directly

Brusies - Lavender Essential Oil is safe and gentle enough for children. It is also a skin regenerator.

Burns (Minor) - Apply Lavender directly on to the affected area.

Itching, Rashes -
Apply 2-3 drops of Lavender oil or Purification blend to a rash to stop the itching and heal the skin.

Muscle Aches & Pain – use with hot & cold therapy to help speed the healing process for muscle aches, pain, leg cramps, soreness. These oils are all beneficial. Pick one or two - basil, rosemary, wintergreen, eucalyptus, lemongrass, ginger, peppermint, Aroma Siez & Pan Away (Young Living blends). Blend a few drops with a carrier oil such as jojoba, almond or any massage oil, then apply to the affected area and rub in well. (Then call at 970-204-1794 me to schedule a Deluxe Hot Stone Massage!)

Motion Sickness, Nausea - To alleviate the symptoms of motion sickness, place a drop of Peppermint essential oil on the end of the tongue. You can also add 1 drop to a carrier oil and  massage the belly. Lavender essential oil is sometimes effective when applied behind the ears.

Strain or sprain - is more serious than muscle pain and can involve minor or even serious tearing of muscle, tendons and ligaments. For minor strain and sprain use the essential oils of Lemongrass, Helichrysm or Eucalyptus. Apply cold packs, elevate the limb and seek medical attention if needed.

Peppermint Essential Oil Helps Relieve Pain – Put a few drops of therapeutic peppermint oil into 1-2 tsp of pure massage oil or carrier oil like almond or grape seed and then massage directly into achy muscles, joints, sprains or strains. A carrier oil is used to mix your essential oils in when you are applying to a large area of the body, like back, arms or legs. This helps your essential oils go a long way, as well as diluting oils that may be too “hot” (Peppermint, Eucalyptus) to apply directly on to the skin. Use an organic carrier oil (not cooking oil) designed for use on the body. Do not use the Thieves blend on the skin as it is too 'hot'.
